Last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain featured more than one mystery vignette, one of which teased the debut of former AEW star Rey Fenix, who is now all but officially set to join his brother Penta as a WWE superstar.
Silhouetted in the ring, walking the ropes, and sitting on the turnbuckle, Fenix could just about be made out if you squinted your eyes, being able to see his signature mask, tattoos and shape. There has been no official confirmation from either side about Fenix joining WWE, but it was heavily rumoured over the last week that he was WWE-bound after being released from AEW and removed from their roster page. One report suggested that Fenix would arrive in WWE and team up with Penta, reforming the Lucha Brothers duo. However, with Fenix’s vignette airing on SmackDown, it may suggest that he and Penta will be kept apart at first, with Penta being a member of the RAW roster.
Another mystery vignette aired on SmackDown, though this was way more unclear. It was dark with some smoke rising, with only the number 4 being shown on screen. This could potentially be the start of a countdown.
