Drew McIntyre recently appeared on KWCH 12 News and spoke about his recent absence from WWE TV. He returned at the end of last week's Raw episode, blindsiding Sami Zayn with a claymore to close the show. Drew hadn't been seen prior to the attack since losing a Hell in a Cell match to CM Punk at Bad Blood.

When asked about this time away, McIntyre explained:

"I was off the past two months. My last match was a Hell in a Cell match, a very brutal match. I got hit in the head at one point and needed sixteen staples to close a wound at the top of my head. I suffered a family loss as well so I went back to Scotland to deal with that and re-evaluate my priorities and realise that I have probably given a bit too much to my profession, to my colleagues, and not enough to my family.

"I kind of realised I've been giving a bit too much for the past 17 years and it's time to start taking a little more. My mentality is: I'm going to take what's mine. I'm going to beat up the people who deserve to get beat up."

Drew appeared in a video package on last night's Raw, mainly talking in character about his reasons for targeting Zayn, while also reiterating that he'd spent time with his family back home in Scotland. He appeared in person later on, again attacking Sami.
