WWE fans would like to see Vince McMahon involved in some capacity at John Cena's final match, according to WWE Hall of Famer and current WWE LFG coach Bully Ray.

Bubba Ray Dudley discussed Vince McMahon's appearance on Fox's Hulk Hogan documentary and after noting he felt emotional seeing the disgraced former WWE Chairman, Bully Ray expressed his belief that McMahon's appearance in a WWE tribute video to Hogan was a calculated move by the company.

"In the video package that WWE put together honouring Hulk Hogan, they did show an image of Vince McMahon raising Hulk Hogan's hand. Now, some of you might be saying, 'Well, it's just one image in a montage of hundreds of images,' but it all starts somewhere, and we saw a lot of Vince tonight, and it just got me thinking…Have we seen the last of Vince McMahon in WWE? Do you think putting Vince out there tonight opens the door just a little bit? Could you imagine if Vince ever came back as a character trying to take the place back over again? I'm seeing Vince sit there. I don't know about you guys, but I got Emperor Palpatine vibes off of him, I really did…there's never been a bully heel like Vince McMahon. Vince generated so much heat…Austin needed McMahon," Bully Ray said on Busted Open Radio.

After a caller pitched McMahon returning for John Cena's final match to congratulate the 17-time world champion, Bully Ray added: "I think it's a really good idea. It's going to be a very emotional night…And Vince is the guy that gave John his opportunity…If Vince were to come out in that moment to give John his final farewell, I think the people would like to see that, or would embrace it, and maybe for that moment in time, forget about all of the things that are going on in quote, unquote, real life with Vince…I think they could ride that wave of positivity.

"The wrestling business is very calculated. I definitely think that WWE and TKO will sit back and monitor social media tonight and tomorrow to see just what kind of response Vince McMahon got for being on this documentary."

John Cena has remained defiant in expressing his love for Vince McMahon in recent years despite McMahon being accused of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and physical and emotional abuse by former WWE employee Janel Grant. In another lawsuit, McMahon is one of several defendants who has been accused by former WWE ring boys of being aware of sexual abuse carried out by Mel Phillips, yet they did nothing to stop or prevent it.

John Cena's final match is planned for a December edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, with reports suggesting WWE could potentially move the date to December 27 to run head-to-head against AEW Worlds End.
