Long-Absent AEW Talent Expected To Return Soon

Injured star expected to be back in AEW soon

A long-absent wrestler may not be gone from All Elite Wrestling for much longer.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bandido has still yet to be cleared for an in-ring return but he should be given a clean bill of health soon. The former ROH World Champion has been out of action since his June 16, 2023 Rampage match against Konosuke Takeshita.

Bandido suffered a broken wrist in the Summer of 2023 and he underwent surgery, with an expected return date of September. Bandido's wrist only worsened, however, and he had to undergo a second surgery in December. It was then expected that Bandido would return around May 2024 but that has been and gone without a Bandido return.

As of mid-July, Bandido had tried to get cleared but he had yet to be given the approval he needs to make his in-ring comeback.

Bandido has been under contract with All Elite Wrestling since November 2022, having impressed in an ROH World Title match against Chris Jericho earlier in the year. In addition to his ROH World Title reign in 2021, Bandido is a former PWG World Champion and Crash Heavyweight Champion.
