NXT TakeOver: Blackpool took place on Saturday night and was everything we’ve come to expect from a TakeOver event and more. From top to bottom, the card delivered – with the cherry on top of a very delicious cake taking the form of a massive, scary man from Austria.
Yes, the show closed with WALTER making his NXT UK debut, appearing at the conclusion of the main event between Pete Dunne and Joe Coffey to stand across the ring from the retaining UK Champion. This, presumably, means WALTER is Dunne’s next challenger – and I don’t know about you, but I hope the pair of them beat the living snot out of one another. It’s going to be glorious.
As you’re probably aware, NXT UK held a set of TV tapings on Sunday night in the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool – the setting for the TakeOver event the night before.
At the event, WALTER made his in-ring debut, taking on Jack Starz. As you’d expect, the reigning PROGRESS Heavyweight Champion made light work of his opponent – delivering one of his customary chops in the process.
Simply sit back, turn the volume up, and cringe as you see a man’s chest quite literally cave in. Ouch.
