AEW Plans In Motion For Adam Cole's Return

Adam Cole return plans in motion in AEW

It seems as though Adam Cole could finally be close to making his All Elite Wrestling return, with reports suggesting creative plans are being put in place for the former ROH World Champion.

Cole has been out of action for over a year, having suffered an ankle injury in September 2023 that later required two surgeries to correct. A report from Fightful Select suggests that AEW are expecting the Undisputed Kingdom leader back ‘sooner than later’, with plans being drafted for an on-screen return for Cole.

Reports this Summer suggested that Cole was inching his way towards a return, with Cole backstage at some recent AEW shows, including All Out on September 4, as well as Dynamite tapings in August. At All Out, Cole was said to have been walking without the aid of crutches or a medical boot, prompting speculation that his return could be on the cards.

After suffering the injury in September '23, Cole remained on the road with AEW, but was withdrawn from travelling in Spring 2024 as it was putting his recovery behind schedule. Cole was last seen on AEW TV at Double or Nothing in May, with former tag partner MJF getting revenge on ‘The Devil’.
