Ricky Starks Denies He Turned Down AEW Creative

Starks denies the reports.

AEW star Ricky Starks has denied that he ever turned down a creative pitch from the promotion.

Starks has been absent from AEW television for the past several months, with his last appearance coming on the March 30 episode of Collision.

In May, a report suggested that plans for an angle that would have seen Starks get attacked by Big Bill (thus turning him babyface) had been nixed at his request.

Responding to a user on X who referenced Starks allegedly putting the kibosh on these creative plans, the former AEW World Tag Team Champion wrote: "Enough is enough. Usually I don't even speak on this but it's tired. I never turned down anything, EVER. Just Stop".

AEW owner Tony Khan praised Starks during an interview with CBS Sports in June, saying:

"I think Ricky Starks is tremendous. I'd love to get him involved and back in AEW anytime. He's been a huge part of what we've done here for about four out of the five years".

However, a recent report noted that AEW have no long-term plans for the 34-year-old. Meanwhile, there is significant interest in Starks within WWE NXT.
