Report: Major Changes To WrestleMania 36 Card Revealed

Battle of the Spears incoming...

Over the weekend, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE had cancelled two of their planned matches for WrestleMania 36. The plan for months had been for "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt to defend the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns, and John Cena was set to go one on one with Elias to conclude their WrestleMania interactions.

These matches were nixed, however, and the replacement matches were not known until today. Now, Meltzer has revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE has added Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns in a battle of the Spears and The Fiend vs. John Cena to the card.

Meltzer said: "The top two SmackDown matches are going to be Bill Goldberg against Roman Reigns, so Bill Goldberg is on WrestleMania now, and John Cena against Bray Wyatt…I don't know if that 100 percent means Bill Goldberg is winning or John Cena wins the Elimination Chamber."

The bout for the Universal title is not currently known as Wyatt and Goldberg are set to face off later today at Super ShowDown. Ultimately, the winner of that match will enlighten us on the company's plans for The Showcase Of The Immortals.
