Report: WWE Offer To Move Matt Hardy To NXT

Broken on the black and gold brand...

Matt Hardy's latest run with WWE looks set to come to an end on March 1, as the former Woken One has yet to sign a new contract with the company. The two parties have been in negotiations for months now, but they have been unable to settle their differences as to how Matt should be used going forward. The former SmackDown Tag Team Champion wants to transition away from his Hardy Boyz character and instead wishes to use his Broken Matt gimmick again, which WWE has no interest in pursuing.

This has led to Hardy broadcasting his FREE The DELETE series on YouTube and he and AEW have posted multiple teasers in recent days that he will be debuting in the young promotion soon as the Dark Order's Exalted One.

Matt may still decide to stay with WWE, however, as Mike Johnson revealed on PWInsider Elite Audio that the company has offered to move Hardy to NXT.

Johnson said: "I know that WWE has made a lot of overtures to him in the last couple of weeks. There’s been some talk of him working in the NXT system somehow. My gut feeling is that Matt Hardy will probably stay."
