In recent months, former WWE and IMPACT Wrestling announcer Taz has increasingly appeared on All Elite Wrestling programming. He has often been a guest commentator on Dark, and he also joined Excalibur and Jim Ross in the commentary booth on the January 1 episode of Dynamite.
Taz was again present for last night’s taping of Dark and earlier today, AEW announced on Twitter that The Human Suplex Machine had signed a multi-year deal with the young promotion. A video was embedded within the tweet in which both Taz and AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes talked about how happy they both were.
Cody said: “We’re backstage, Miami, Florida. We just had Bash At The Beach and we get to have an authentic All Elite Wrestling moment with you…We’re here to officially sign the contract for Taz.”
When asked about the contract, Taz replied: “My people looked at it, multiple years in there and everything, the coin looks right, so it looks pretty good.”
Taz then added: “Well, looks like I’ve joined a revolution again.”
Many fans speculated that AEW’s signing of Taz was imminent as earlier today, he teased he had some important news to share. The former ECW star wrote on Twitter: “Couple of announcements regarding my career today. 1st, I can tell u guys, “Taz Show” pod will be on a “hold” for quite some time. I know many if u don’t like that news, I apologize for inconvenience & THANK U for all the support. My other career news will be announce shortly.”
