Prosecutors have declined to press charges in the case against Thomas Wansaw, who wrestled for AEW as Bear Boulder.

The Assistant State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Court of Florida filed paperwork on March 6 affirming that there would be no charges filed against Wansaw, who was arrested on January 13 on charges of battery by strangulation. Wansaw allegedly pushed his fiancée to the floor and placed his foot on her throat until she lost consciousness, with the fiancée noting it was not a first-time situation.

The victim in the domestic violence case had asked for the charges to be dropped. The document asking for the charges to be dismissed was signed on January 15 but not entered into court records until February 28.

Wansaw was quietly let go by AEW following his arrest. Meanwhile, his Iron Savages tag team partner Bear Bronson (Joseph Fitz) has distanced himself from Wansaw. The team had considered splitting up prior to their AEW debut in December 2020.

Wansaw has yet to comment publicly on the arrest and has not wrestled since January 11.
