Since returning to the WWE fold back in November, CM Punk has been outspoken about his former employer. He has repeatedly criticised WWE Creative, making disparaging comments on WWE Backstage about "The Big Dog" segment on SmackDown, and on the Colin Cowherd podcast, he said that he believed too many people were involved in writing WWE's storylines and the overabundance of opinions was preventing Superstars from defining their own characters.
The Voice Of The Voiceless has now commented on WWE's new LGBTQ storyline. During Lana and Bobby Lashley's wedding, Liv Morgan returned to the company and objected to their marriage on the grounds that she was in love with Lana. Morgan then insinuated that she had been The Ravishing Russian's lover while she was married to Rusev.
Punk was critical of WWE for the manner in which they introduced an LGBTQ storyline, adding that he believes WWE Creative do not understand the importance of introducing an LGBTQ character on WWE TV.
Punk tweeted:
"WWE needs to hire people who actually understand what representation means to the audience they’re trying to reach. But what do I know? I’m a bear, I suck the heads off fish."
