CM Punk Open To Teaming With John Cena During His WWE Retirement Tour

Punk thinks there's something in a union with Cena.

CM Punk has already thrown his name into the hat as one of John Cena's prospective opponents for the 16-time world champion's 2025 retirement tour.

Another possibility would be the two men joining forces as a tag team, something the Straight-Edge Superstar thinks could be interesting.

Speaking at the Mattel WWE panel at the San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Punk offered the following when asked who he would like to team with:

"If I had to tag up with somebody to beat some people up, it would probably be Larry. Everybody's asking me because (John) Cena has announced his retirement that, you know, obviously they wanna see us fight each other. I think there's something to me and him tagging. I think that can be pretty interesting".

The noted rivals have teamed together on occasion before, with the last time coming in a three-on-two handicap match against The Shield on the December 20, 2013 episode of SmackDown.

The Miz, Rob Van Dam and Matt Cardona are among the names to have also expressed an interest in wrestling Cena during his retirement tour.

However, the man himself has claimed he is not interested in choosing his own opponents for his prolonged send-off.
