Drew McIntyre Reacts To Ending CM Punk's WWE WrestleMania Main Event Dream

Drew McIntyre enjoying the end of CM Punk's WrestleMania dream

CM Punk's WrestleMania main event dream is over for another year and Drew McIntyre is absolutely loving it.

Punk revealed on the January 29 edition of Monday Night Raw that he sustained a torn triceps in the men's Royal Rumble match and he won't be back in time for WrestleMania 40. With tears in his eyes, Punk was interrupted by Drew McIntyre, who proceeded to admit he had prayed that Punk would get injured as it means he can main-event WrestleMania 40 instead. Punk then promised to come after Drew when he returns from injury so McIntyre responded with a headbutt and stomped on Punk's injured tricep.

McIntyre's happiness at Punk's injury has only continued since Raw as Irn Dru took to X (FKA Twitter) on Tuesday night, posting a parody of the popular meme of Grant Gustin posing in front of Oliver Queen's grave. McIntyre edited his face over Gustin's and changed the tombstone to read "CM Punk's WrestleMania Main Event 2024-2024."

That wasn't all, though, as McIntyre replied to WWE sending CM Punk well wishes with an image of Michael Jordan laughing

CM Punk was internally scheduled to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship in one of the headline matches at WrestleMania 40. "Just about everything" is now reportedly on the table for Mania following the injury and Brock Lesnar's withdrawal from WWE TV and McIntyre is one of the favourites to face Rollins along with Gunther.

McIntyre's long-term WWE future remains up in the air, though, as he is yet to sign a new deal with the company. His contract is set to expire just after WrestleMania 40.
