Honky Tonk Man Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame

D-Generation X are also part of the 2019 class...

Last week, WWE announced that Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, X-Pac and Chyna of D-Generation X were the first members of the 2019 class heading into the Hall of Fame.

Now, thanks to news initially broken by CBS Sports, we've learned that Honky Tonk Man will be joining them.

The longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time debuted in WWE back in 1986 and was initially positioned as a babyface, but would find most of his successes as a heel alongside Jimmy Hart.

After winning the IC title from Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, Honky would boast that he was the "greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time," with fans not buying it at all - little did they know he would go on to hold the title for 454 days (a record that still stands today). The shaker, rattler, and roller would famously lose the title to Ultimate Warrior at SummerSlam 1988 in very quick fashion.

The 2019 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place on Saturday, April 6 (the night before WrestleMania 35) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y, and tickets for the ceremony are available now.
