Matt Hardy Comments On Sammy Guevara's AEW Suspension

Guevera was suspended due to a match he had with Matt's brother Jeff.

AEW star Sammy Guevera is currently serving a suspension due to a match he had with Jeff Hardy at the February 14 Rampage taping.

During the match, Guevara's knee struck Hardy in the face as he hit a Shooting Star Press. Though it was feared Jeff had suffered a concussion due to the impact of the move, that was not the case. For not following protocol and hitting his opponent with a move after the mishap, however, Sammy was sent home.

This is news to Jeff's brother Matt, who commented on Guevera's during a recent edition of his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy Podcast, saying: "The whole thing about Sammy being suspended was all new to me until broken by Sean Ross Sapp, that was all new to me, but it is what it is, I guess".

Some within AEW have defended Guevera over the suspension.

Matt recently provided an update on Jeff's recovery, noting that he had suffered multiple breaks in his nose and it was a slow process for him to get back into the ring.

Matt's own AEW career may be about to come to an end, with the 49-year-old confirming reports that his contract is set to expire this month. He last wrestled at the January 3 Rampage taping.
