ROH's Bandido Issues Apology After Booking Travis Banks For 'Big Lucha' Event

Banks was a named individual in the #SpeakingOut Movement

Ring Of Honor wrestler Bandido has taken to social media to apologise following backlash after booking Travis Banks to appear on his 'Big Lucha' show last week.

Bandido held a 'Big Lucha' event from his gym on Thursday 16 September, which aired on YouTube. One of the matches on the card was a Battle Royale, in which Banks was one of the participants.

Banks was one of the individuals named during the #SpeakingOut Movement last year. Fellow wrestler Millie McKenzie made allegations of emotional abuse against Banks, who was subsequently quietly released by WWE in the aftermath.

Bandido has now apologised for booking Banks on the show.

Writing on Twitter, he said: "On behalf of Big Lucha & Bandido’s Gym I want to apologize for my mistake yesterday.

"I don’t want to give any excuses. I am learning the difference between being a wrestler who just plays a small part of an event & being the person who is responsible for everything that happens when it’s my show.

"I accept responsibility & sincerely apologize to anyone who was offended. I promise to do better in the future."
