Scrapped Last-Minute AEW Dynamite Plans For Will Ospreay Vs. MJF Feud Revealed
AEW had different plans for Wednesday night's Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling had to scrap plans for the latest chapter in the feud between MJF and Will Ospreay at a late stage ahead of the July 31 edition of Dynamite.
Wednesday night's Dynamite saw Will Ospreay defeat Lance Archer, only for Ospreay to be attacked by MJF post-match. Kyle Fletcher then made the save and cut a critically acclaimed promo about getting his dream house, dream car, and dream girl in the United States before he challenged MJF to a match. That match will take place on next week's episode of Dynamite and a stipulation was added to the contest during Thursday night's Collision taping.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Kyle Fletcher was not originally planned for the segment and he was a late addition. On Tuesday night, All Elite Wrestling contacted a talent not signed to the company who has never actually worked for AEW and asked if they could work a two-week programme, angle, and match. The wrestler turned down the offer, though, as it was too late for them to change their schedule.
It is unknown who AEW tried to bring in for the two-week programme beyond they are a "very big physically impressive wrestler."
MJF and Will Ospreay have been feuding on AEW TV since the beginning of July and Friedman defeated Ospreay for the AEW International Championship at Dynamite 250. MJF has since renamed the belt the AEW American Championship and the title will be on the line against Ospreay at All In on Sunday, August 25.
