The first ever WWE Speed Women's Champion is...

Back in September, WWE began the WWE Women’s Speed Tournament, adding to the X-exclusive Speed show with a women’s division. The men’s Speed division has been ongoing since all the way back in April, introducing the concept of matches with a three to five minute time limit (title matches going on for longer), beginning with a tournament which crowned Ricochet as the inaugural WWE Speed Champion, outlasting Johnny Gargano in the finals. In the months that followed, Andrade dethroned him and became the second champion, holding the gold ever since.

The women’s tournament had a bracket which included Iyo Sky, Lyra Valkyria, Blair Davenport, Naomi, Elektra Lopez, Kairi Sane, Candice LeRae, and Piper Niven. During last night’s October 4 Friday Night SmackDown tapings, the finals of the tournament were held.

The pair were former friends turned rivals during their days in NXT.
