Swerve Strickland Responds To Jim Cornette's Criticism Of AEW Texas Death Match With Hangman Page

Swerve Strickland replies to Jim Cornette following his Texas Death Match criticism

Swerve Strickland has responded to Jim Cornette's criticism of his Texas Death Match with Hangman Adam Page at Full Gear.

The match has been widely praised from across the pro wrestling world and it is expected the contest will be featured in the Match of the Year voting. Featured moments from the Texas Death Match included Hangman Page running wild with a stapler, Swerve getting barbed wire stuck on Hangman's face, and the former AEW World Champion drinking Strickland's blood and then spraying it into the air. Strickland ultimately won the match after "hanging the hangman."

Jim Cornette was critical of the match in its aftermath, with the former Midnight Express manager taking aim at Hangman choosing to staple Strickland instead of battering him with the staple gun itself.

Swerve Strickland, responding to Cultaholic Wrestling's reporting of Cornette's comments, has since fired back, tweeting: "It's like telling kids there's a new insane horror movie out, don't go see it! What's the first thing they gonna do."

The future of the programme between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page is currently unknown, but the two talents look set to be linked going forward following Hangman's comments.
