The original Hart Foundation will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 6, the night before WrestleMania 35 takes place inside MetLife Stadium in the shadows of New York City.
WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart - who becomes the third two-time Hall of Famer alongside Shawn Michaels and Booker T in this year's class - and his brother-in-law, the late Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, are going into the hall with their tag team work in the 1980s and 1990s being recognised.
Bret spoke with
Yahoo Sports, who 'broke' the story this afternoon: “It was very emotional for me. It really means a lot to me and I think it would mean a lot to my late tag partner, who would be really honoured to be in the Hall of Fame.
"I think we both were really proud of our work as a team. I had hoped for years that we would get inducted together and get to go on stage together, but that’s not going to happen now. Emotionally, I feel really proud and I’m glad to get a chance to speak for Jim and I know he’ll be listening.”
Bret and Jim joined WWE all the way back in 1985 under the tutelage of “The Mouth of The South” Jimmy Hart. They would win two WWF Tag Team Championships before going their separate ways in the summer of 1991.
Tickets for the Hall of Fame ceremony, which will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., are available now.
