Christopher Daniels has confirmed his professional wrestling retirement, bringing the curtain down on his in-ring career after 32 years.

Daniels recently lost a Texas Death Match to Hagman Page on AEW Collision, and on the January 22 edition of Dynamite, Daniels - sporting a neck brace - announced that he was advised by doctors to never wrestle again, although it has not been revealed if this is a kayfabe injury or not.

The ‘Fallen Angel’ later took to social media, posting the following on X/Twitter:

“I’m sad that it’s over. But so very happy that it happened. Thank you all!”

One of the key names of the mid-2000s indie explosion, Daniels leaves a legacy that saw him hold championship gold in TNA, NJPW, and Ring Of Honor amongst others, with Daniels serving as a founding father of ROH. For many, it was Daniels’ run in the fabled TNA X-Division that secured his status in wrestling history, with his three way against AJ Styles and Samoa Joe at Unbreakable 2005 still regarded by many as the finest match in TNA history.

Daniels remains a key backstage figure in AEW, with Daniels currently serving as VP of Talent Relations. It’s assumed that Daniels’ protege Curry Man has also retired, such is the closeness between the two men.
