Fantasy, Logical, Dubious, Wildcard: Who Defeats Kenny Omega For The IMPACT World Title?

Who will end the Belt Collector’s reign of terror in the IMPACT Zone?

Wildcard - Josh Alexander

Whilst the main event scene has deflated, the X Division has flourished - just like the TNA of old. You have the likes of Ace Austin, Rohit Raju, Chris Bey, Trey Miguel, TJP, and an evergreen Petey Williams putting on bangers week after week, but none can hold a candle to X Division Champion Josh Alexander.

Whilst some feared for Alexander’s future after former tag partner Ethan Page made his way to AEW, Alexander has thrived, with The Walking Weapon currently enjoying the best run of his career. His 60-minute Ironman Match with TJP on June 3 is a MOTY contender, and some in the wider wrestling world have compared the 34 year-old to a young Kurt Angle.

Why not give him the rub and have him dismantle Kenny Omega?

IMPACT/TNA have never been afraid to have the X Division Champ go after the world title, with Lashley, Angle, Austin Aries, and Chris Sabin all holding both titles at the same time - the latter two exchanging their belt for a successful ‘option c’ cash-in.

The X Division as a division is healthy and stacked, why not have Alexander ‘graduate’ into the World Title scene? Maybe put his X Division Title on the line and goad a greedy Omega into taking the challenge?

The only drawback would be that many outside of IMPACT would say “who?” if Alexander reigned victorious, but isn’t that what making a star is all about? In a modern wrestling world dominated by clicks over channel switches, IMPACT and Alexander would surely receive a spike of interest, and it would be down to The Walking Weapon to convert those clicks into fans.
