Ring of Honor return to PPV on December 20 with Final Battle in the Hammerstein Ballroom, but the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Titles will not be defended on the show.
The titles are currently held by Dustin Rhodes and The Von Erichs, but Marshall Von Erich has been out of action for nearly three months with a torn pec, the titles were last contested during the July 28 ROH TV tapings.
ROH President Tony Khan was asked as to the status of the titles in Von Erich’s absence, with Khan saying the following during the pre-Final Battle media call:
“As for the Von Erichs, Ross has had an injury. It’s been a little bit longer healing than we thought it would be, but that’s okay,” Khan said. “Ross will be back with us soon, and I’m excited about that. It was one of those developing situations on an injury. We want to give people time to heal.
“We focused more on the tag team [titles], and the six-man champions will be back with us very soon. We’ll see going forward what the status of Ross and Marshall is. But I expect Ross back soon and Marshall’s been doing awesome himself, and we’re excited to get those guys back with us as a six-man team.”
