WWE NXT Locker-Room ‘Nervous’ About Potential Cuts

Potential cuts have left some in the WWE NXT locker-room ‘nervous’

Recent roster cuts have allegedly left some members of the WWE NXT locker-room ‘nervous’, with the recent exit of Damon Kemp said to bey a key cause of such feelings.

WWE have recently adopted a strategy of letting contracts expire rather than cutting part-way through any deals, with the likes of Dijak, Gable Steveson, and Kemp exiting in such a manner. Per a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, whilst Dijak and Steveson’s exits were understandable due to main roster wages for an unused talent in the former, and WWE cutting their losses on an underperforming high contract on the latter, with Kemp (aka Bobby Steveson) he was a talent viewed as good in the ring for his level of experience, with nobody having anything negative to say about him.

For many in NXT who have contracts nearing their expiration, there is apparently a feeling of ‘if they’d cut him [Kemp], then who else would they cut' from their deals?

Kemp joined WWE in 2021, debuting on NXT the same year. Aligned with Diamond Mine and later the No Quarter Catch Crew, Kemp exited WWE in early July after being told his expiring contract would not be renewed.
