AEW's Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match Debacle
An OMG moment for all the wrong reasons.
AEW had made the Revolution explosion into a big deal ahead of the PPV and a beautiful moment was even created as the countdown ticked on when Eddie Kingston put his body on the line to save Jon Moxley.
Kingston needn’t have bothered, though, as instead of an explosion on the scale of Atsushi Onita vs. Hayabusa, fans were presented with something more reminiscent of the sparklers you give to children on bonfire night.
Mild sparks fired into the air and the smoke was so pitiful it failed to envelope Kingston and Moxley inside the squared circle. All that could be heard instead of a loud boom was boos from the audience inside Daily’s Place.
An explosion so disastrous Tony Khan actually refused to pay the pyrotechnic guys that set it up. A laughably bad OMG moment for all involved.
