Fantasy, Logical, Dubious, Wildcard: What Next For WWE NXT's Adam Cole?

The former NXT Champion is at a crossroads in his career...

Logical: Adam Cole is All Elite

NJPW

From the outside looking in, all roads seemingly lead to All Elite Wrestling.

Adam Cole was an integral part of The Elite during his ROH/PWG/NJPW days, and seeing as his best mates Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks run AEW, you can imagine they’d move heaven and earth to get their pal in the company.

Cole in AEW would open up a bevy of interesting match-ups and potential stories; could Cole get revenge on Kenny Omega for unceremoniously booting Cole out of Bullet Club? Could he go after The Young Bucks for ‘poisoning’ him to death on Being the Elite? Never mind dream matches with the likes of Christian Cage, Jon Moxley, and Jungle Boy.

And if Cole wanted a return to NJPW, or to work PWG shows, then AEW would probably allow him to.

This breaking down of the ‘forbidden door’ (can we stop saying forbidden door now?) has made wrestling truly exciting again, and for performers with as rich a history as Adam Cole, a move away from WWE would be amazing for fans.

The only worry is that Cole could get lost in the shuffle. AEW’s men’s roster was absolutely stacked even before the signings of Andrade El Idolo and Malakai Black, never mind the supposedly imminent arrivals of CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.

But like we’ve already established, Adam Cole was All Elite before All Elite was even a thing. If he makes the jump to Jacksonville, I’m certain he’ll be fine. Plus, y'know, his girlfriend Britt Baker is one of the hottest stars in the company.
