There is an elephant in the room with regards to Adam Cole; a run on WWE’s main roster.

Quick recap, here’s what we know currently about WWE’s main roster;

  • Raw and SmackDown’s biggest stars (McIntyre, Lashley, Reigns) are the size of fridges and utterly shredded. Adam Cole, is not.
  • Previous NXT call-ups have been booked terribly, such as current NXT Champion Karrion Kross, Aleister Black, Shayna Baszler, etc etc.
  • With the recent releases of Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt, WWE care little about ‘how big a star is’, or what they’ve done in the past, WWE care if they’ll do what WWE needs of them.

On the face of it, that’s grim reading for any of NXT’s top stars, never mind their best asset.

But never say never. Whilst many fans will scream “IT’S A TRAP” like Admiral Ackbar on glue if Cole goes anywhere near the main roster, and would rather he run away and keep his momentum in tact than end up as 24/7 title fodder, we forget that wrestlers are a highly motivated bunch.

Why would Cole - or anyone else with his talent - run away from a fight just in case it all goes terribly? You’d imagine he’d have a ‘it won’t happen to me’ mind-set, and will want to prove to everyone that he is that damn good, and deserves to be at the top table with the big boys.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that WWE currently has a Daniel Bryan shaped hole in it, and whilst Cole wouldn’t be a heroic babyface like The Goat, he has the size, skill, and charisma to fill that void.

Plus imagine the matches on offer; Cole vs. McIntyre redux, Cole vs. Lashley, even Cole vs. Styles, if given the chance Adam Cole would thrive on main roster.

Please don't mess it up, Vince.
